Generally add-ons can be used by using the "-a" option in config.sh like so:
$ cd ${SPDIR}/configure_scripts
$ ./config.sh -a addon1,addon2,addon3,...
This will create a new sp001 (and if necessary also a new sp002) in the form
sp001_addon1_addon2_addon3_...
